How we protect your data.

This policy explains in plain language how Ateliers Ayla inc. collects, uses, stores and protects your personal data. It complies with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25, in force since 2023).

2. What data we collect

When you fill out the contact form

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • City or neighbourhood
  • Project type
  • Desired timeline (optional)
  • Project description (optional)

When you visit the site

  • IP address (anonymized for statistics)
  • Browser type and operating system
  • Pages visited and visit duration
  • Referring source

When you become a client

  • Complete address of the home concerned
  • Technical details of your project
  • Photographs of your current kitchen (with your consent)
  • Payment details (managed by our banking provider, never stored by us)

3. Why we collect your data

Your data is used exclusively for the following purposes:

  • Respond to your request for consultation or information
  • Prepare and execute your kitchen project if you become a client
  • Communicate with you by email or phone (project updates, invoices, warranty follow-up)
  • Improve our service via aggregated and anonymized statistics
  • Meet legal obligations (accounting, tax record-keeping)

What we never do: sell your data, share it for commercial purposes with third parties, sign you up for newsletters without explicit consent, contact you for services unrelated to your project.

4. With whom your data is shared

  • Our technical subcontractors (Vercel hosting, Formspree form service, transactional email service) — only the data strictly necessary for their service.
  • Our installer partners (RBQ-licensed) — your project address and technical details necessary for installation.
  • Our material suppliers — only the chantier delivery contact, no sensitive personal information.
  • Public authorities — only if required by law (e.g. Revenu Québec for tax obligations).

All our service providers are contractually bound to confidentiality and respect of your data.

5. How long we keep your data

Client files (quotes, contracts, communications) 10 years after final delivery (tax and warranty obligations)
Anonymized navigation data 13 months maximum
Project photographs (with your consent) No limit, but you may request deletion at any time

6. Your rights

Under Quebec's Law 25 and applicable laws, you have the following rights over your data:

  • Right of access: obtain a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Right of rectification: correct any inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to deletion ("right to be forgotten"): request erasure of your data, subject to our legal obligations
  • Right to withdraw consent: at any time, without justification
  • Right to portability: receive your data in a structured, readable format
  • Right to object: refuse processing of your data for certain purposes
  • Right to complain: file a complaint with Quebec's Commission d'accès à l'information

To exercise any of these rights, write to contact@ateliersayla.com. We respond within 30 days maximum.

7. Cookies and trackers

Our site uses a minimum number of cookies, strictly necessary:

  • Technical cookies: essential for site operation (display preferences, session management). These are essential and don't require your consent.
  • Audience measurement cookies: if we use a statistics tool (e.g. Plausible, Google Analytics 4), it's configured to respect your privacy (IP anonymization, no cross-site profiling).

We use no advertising cookies nor retargeting without your explicit consent.

You can refuse or delete cookies via your browser settings.

8. Data security

  • Hosting on secure infrastructure (Vercel, SOC 2 certified)
  • Encrypted HTTPS connections (TLS 1.3) for any data transmission
  • Limited data access only to authorized Ateliers Ayla personnel
  • Regular encrypted backups
  • Continuous data protection training for the team

9. Minor's data

Our site and services are not intended for minors under 18. We do not knowingly collect data concerning minors. If you notice that a minor has transmitted their data to us, write to us immediately at contact@ateliersayla.com and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be modified to reflect legal, technical or practice evolutions. The last update date is shown at the top of this page. For any substantial changes, we will notify you by email if we hold your address, or by a clearly visible notice on the site.

12. Applicable law

This policy is governed by the laws of Quebec and Canada. In case of dispute, the courts of the judicial district of Montreal have exclusive jurisdiction.
